At The Barnyard, we understand that learning begins with baby’s first breath. We provide the highest quality care in an environment that is designed to treasure our babies and guide them with extra loving care. Our "chicks” will learn and grow through music, exercise, facial and verbal mimicking as well as lots of hugs, love, laughter and tickles. Music, art, story time, exercise, mealtimes, diaper changes and naps are all a part of our daily routine. Our infant room is filled with educational and age-appropriate toys and materials.
In the Duckling and Owlet room, our one-year old’s move fast! At this age, children are meeting new challenges as fast as they come. Crawling, walking and eventually running are levels they accomplish in what seems like a blink of an eye. They experience a perfect combination of indoor and outdoor play, helping their minds and bodies to grow strong. Children learn best if they are in a stimulating environment. Music, stories, outdoor play, and learning simplicities envelop much of the day. Circle time is a favorite, when they will learn through music, repetition and stories. Ducklings and Owlets also enjoy our age-appropriate new playground! Our caregivers are dedicated in helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship. A parental daily report is given to update each family on meal times, nap times, toilet training and all activities accomplished each day.
Peacocks and Piglets learn through hands on and stimulating play! They experience a combination of indoor and outdoor play, helping their minds and bodies grow strong. Circle time is a favorite where they learn through music, repetition, and stories. They also enjoy our age-appropriate outdoor playground. Lambs are learning all about their world around them as they turn three and take the big leap to our preschool side of the building! The Lambs engage in imaginary play, sensory activities, and concepts in literacy, math & science through their classroom centers. Lambs also enjoy circle time listening to stories read aloud, learning about numbers, shapes, & letters, and learning to share ideas with each other using their ever-expanding vocabulary.
Our Colts, Billies, and Calves prepare for kindergarten using a combination of Zoo Phonics and Handwriting Without Tears curricula. Our Colt, Billie and Calf teachers use multiple means of instruction to accommodate multiple learning styles. This involves imaginary play, sensory play, small group & whole group learning, math and literacy centers, arts & crafts, and playground time.
Our Owls classroom provides care for children during before and after school hours. The Barnyard's dynamic after school program includes homework help, table games, crafts, fun on our playground and more! The Wise Owls are also invited to our full time summer program during the summer months.
The Barnyard offers transportation for students attending the following schools: Riverside Elementary, Liberty Elementary, White Pine Elementary, Trailwind Elementary. Transportation is included in your tuition.
