Our teachers and staff will help your child to become independent and make good choices. We strive to introduce your child to different aspects of learning so they're prepared for the future.
We're extremely proud of our directors, teachers and support staff. Our staff is trained in first aid and CPR and we require ongoing training for our staff through classes, orientation videos, in-house training and other certifications.
Keegan and Kayla Hardman are busy raising 3 small children, Annie, Molly and Luke and an overly-friendly black lab, Pepper. Keegan works as an Assistant Project Manager at Wright Brothers, The Building Company and Kayla works part-time for St. Luke’s Hospice as a Hospice RN Case Manager. Both grew up in Southeast Boise and graduated from Timberline High School and Boise State University. In their spare time Keegan enjoys hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Kayla enjoys napping, reading and hanging out with friends and family. If life wasn’t busy enough, Kayla had a great idea to start and run a back to basic day care, hence the start of our family business, The Barnyard Daycare and Learning Center.
Dave and Liane Lemons have been involved in the Finance industry for over 30 years. Dave worked for Micron Technology for 30 years and just recently became the Costing Manager at Scentsy, Inc. located in Meridian. Liane has worked at various jobs over that time period, starting as an auditor with the IRS, running her own CPA practice, working for Ballet Idaho and Delta Dental of Idaho, and for the last 10 years has worked at Scentsy, Inc. as their Senior Accounting Manager. Both Dave and Liane grew up in the small town of Fairfield, ID graduating from Camas County High School, then attended and graduated from Boise State University. They raised their 3 children, Kayla, Kara, and Matthew in Southeast Boise. They enjoy golfing and spending time at their family cabin in Pine, ID.
Mikky Burchard has devoted more than 14 years to working in education with young children and their families. From 2009-2017, Mikky worked as a lead teacher in a classroom setting primarily working with infants and children up to 2 years in age. After that, Mikky was the Assistant Director at River Academy in the Boise/Eagle area. She is currently working on getting her degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Oregon University. Mikky is married to her husband, Spencer, and together they have one daughter, Elsie. Mikky enjoys spending her free with her family and friends, being outdoors, and taking their dogs, Tessie and Oakley on adventures.
Assistant Directors
Amber Furderer is one of the Assistant Directors here at The Barnyard. She has been working with children for 17 years and has been at The Barnyard since opening in 2019. She has a strong passion for early childhood education and enriching the lives of upcoming generations. She began working with children in her home state of California at the Marinwood Community Center. She started as a Counselor in the Summer Camps and spent her last 2 years at Marinwood as a Director. Amber moved to Boise and began her career at Wings Center in 2013 as a Lead Teacher in the Preschool Program. She was the Director of the Preschool Program at Wings Center for 2 years before coming to the Barnyard. Being a part of the children’s developmental journey is a truly rewarding experience for her. Amber believes it is vital to instill the love of learning into children, as learning never ends. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends as well as going on adventures with her two dogs, Harley and Koda.
Kim Duty is
one of the Assistant Directors here at The Barnyard. She has been working with
children for 23 years and has been at The Barnyard since 2021. Kim has worked
with babies to all the way up to school aged children. She loves to watch them
grow, reach milestones, and overcome challenges. Kim grew up in Missouri and
has lived in more than 10 states throughout her adult life. In her free time,
Kim enjoys making quilts and hanging out with her family and friends.
